Last week I did a little experimenting with my kids. We had a yellow cake mix and we had a can of orange soda. So we decided to combine the two and make an orange creamsicle cake! And for how incredibly easy it was, this cake was divine! It’s so moist and flavorful. And instead of using frosting we whipped up some whipping cream and frosted it that way. It was a perfect dessert for our Sunday dinner. I can’t wait to try it in cupcake form! It tastes just like a yummy creamsicle.

I can’t wait to try this recepie! Because I love the combination of chocolate and orange, I plan on sprinkling dark chocolate shavings or even sinking a piece of chocolate bar in the whiipping cream! I can just taste it now 🙂

For the cake mix, do I add the soda to the dry mix or follow the instructions to make a batter then add the egg and soda? Not much of a baker/cook so I don’t want to mess up and have a nice surprise for my husband. Thanks!

Just combine the dry cake mix, orange soda, and the egg. No extra ingredients needed for this one! Thanks, Leah!
