I am part of the Mom It Forward Blogger Network and being compensated by Huggies® for my participation in this campaign. This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% my own. **Even though this is a sponsored post, it is a topic that is so important to me and I’m so happy I had this opportunity.**

This week is National Diaper Week, and in honor of that I got to do something pretty cool.

A Huggies® study found that 1 in 3 moms in the United States struggle with providing their babies clean, dry diapers. That is a statistic that makes me so sad. I can’t imagine not being able to keep my kids in clean, dry diapers.

My love for Huggies® increased when I learned about the brand’s Every Little Bottom program. This program helps get diapers to babies in need, bringing smiles to moms in need all over the country. More than 80 million diapers have been donated to babies in need since the program was founded in 2010. Amazing!

My Experience
Here’s the cool part for me. Huggies® sent me four packages of diapers and I got to deliver them to our local diaper bank. It was a humbling experience. I had just dropped off my oldest to preschool and my 15 month old and I went over to the bank. I loaded up the baby and the diapers and we went inside. Two women sat behind the desk and I as I approached them I could see smiles appear on their faces.

“Please tell me those diapers are for us!”
I smiled back and with a proud, “yes” I handed over the diapers. They were so excited to see size 4’s in the bags, as they only had one small package of size 4 diapers left in their diaper stock. Size 3 and 4 are the sizes they are in need of most.
The women proceeded to thank me for the diapers and tell me how much they need them at the bank. Diapers (especially size 3 and 4) tend to go quickly and, on some occasions, moms leave empty handed because of lack of diapers in stock. That thought made me so sad. I can’t imagine being in that situation.
We continued to talk as something pretty awesome happened. A woman and her little girl (probably 18 months old) came in and stood in line behind me. I stepped out of the way so she could be helped. The woman approached the counter and asked if there were any size 4 diapers available. I smiled to myself, knowing that there was only one size 4 package left in stock and I had just brought in four packages.
One of the women behind the desk handed her two packages of diapers and said, “Thanks to this lady, you can have two packages of diapers.” The woman with the baby looked at me and thanked me for bringing the diapers in and that she relies on the diaper bank for her baby’s diapers. Then she left. Tears immediately came to my eyes, and I noticed the women behind the desk were experiencing the same thing. Talk about a cool moment that I’ll never forget.
All I did was drop off some diapers. But that simple gesture helped a woman and her baby more than I can imagine. And just thinking about that makes me want to do more. How many times do my kids grow out of their diapers and need bigger sizes, and I bag the diapers up to use for my kids later? Next time I’m bagging up those diapers and taking them to the diaper bank. Something that easy for me will make a world of difference for a baby somewhere.

How You Can Help

It is so easy to help these babies and moms. Find your local diaper bank or food bank that takes diapers and bring some diapers by. Any contribution will be another clean diaper for a baby in need. The Every Little Bottom program is changing lives, and I hope more of us can be a part of it!
You can also help the need for diapers by visiting Huggies.com/Tester. You can play games, participate in challenges, and enter to win prizes. Huggies® Every Little Bottom will donate a diaper to a baby in need for every prize entry received.

Huggies® would like to award a Cupcake Diaries reader with a one-month supply of diapers. And along with that, a location in his or her city will be provided with diapers for a baby in need for one month.
AWESOME prize!

Thank you, Huggies®!

Visited the site and learned National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 8–14. Across the country, diaper bankers are staging events to get across the message: Nearly 30 percent of low-income families cannot afford diapers

Huggies are the only diapers that fit my little one. I would be SO grateful if I won a month of free diapers, it would be like a ray of sunshine in such a hard year for us!

I personally feel something needs to be done to help more low income families with supplying diapers and wipes for their babies and toddlers. Its so sad thinking a baby has to go with a dirty or wet diaper because their parents are struggling financially. Wish I knew of a way to help the community I live in. Right now it’s hitting close to home as my own family is struggling while waiting for unemployment benefits to get straightened out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
