A SNAP! Conference 2013 Recap

I got back from a fabulous weekend at the SNAP! Conference yesterday and my mind is just totally full of fun memories and oodles of new blogging knowledge! (To find out more about it, click here! And look for my neon rose and mint backside in photo #8! ha ha) I walked in my house, set everything down, and had no idea where to start on everything. And yes, it’s all still sitting where I left it!

This was my very first blog conference EVER and I was so nervous about going. Once I was there and started getting into the groove of things, I didn’t want to leave! It was such a blast and I made so many new friends.

Last Wednesday I got my stuff packed up, including 250 business cards and the cutest outfits in my wardrobe, and drove myself and McKenzie from Girl Loves Glam down to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UT. The conference didn’t start till Thursday but we wanted to do a little shopping before all the conference fun began!
(The image above shows the front and back of my cards.)

{This awesome picture comes from Natalie over at Natalme! Thanks, Natalie!!}

I got my awesome lanyard at registration and put a bunch of my cards in the back for easy access when it came to swapping cards with bloggers.
We picked up our swag bags and went on our way to visit all the sponsor tables. We got loads and loads of awesome stuff from the amazing sponsors! Talk about a great group this year.
At the end of the day my roommates and I went back to our hotel room to go through our bags. I couldn’t believe how much stuff was packed in there! It was awesome.
(Have you ever emptied your stocking on Christmas morning and tried to put everything back in it just how it was, only to find you can’t even fit it all for some reason? That’s how it was for us with our swag bags. ha ha)
Check out this amazing group of women!! They helped Tauni from SNAP! make the conference possible this year and they’re all pretty darn awesome.
(Don’t you just love their matching TOMS?! So cute!)
I’m so glad a Funny Face Photo Booth was at the closing party (sponsored by Homes.com and ForRent.com) because these are the only pictures I got of me with my roommates! Not like me AT ALL. I’m glad we at least got these crazy goodies! I laugh and laugh when I look at these.
{Top Left: honorary roommate, Crystal, from A Pumpkin and a Princess | Top Right: Nat from My Sister’s Suitcase | Bottom Left: Holly from My Sister’s Suitcase | Bottom Middle: McKenzie from Girl Loves Glam | Bottom Right: Me!}
There was a door decorating contest during the conference and we put ours together just in time for judging. It was a photo booth for people to come take pictures in front of and post to Instagram. Nobody stopped by. ha ha! It didn’t help that our room was on the top floor way at the end of the hall. Not to mention the bazillion other photo booth doors!

We had a pajama party on Thursday night that wasn’t your typical pajama party, that’s for sure! We did all kinds of crafts and ate more cookies and milk than our stomachs could handle.
{That’s me on the right staining a frame blue with Minwax stain and finish! Another pic from Natalie!}

I loved shopping at Queen Bee Market inside the red barn on Friday night. I came home with all kinds of goodies!

And the Lowe’s Challenge was pretty much one of the coolest things I’ve ever witnessed! Ten teams of five women rallying together to build something with the supplies given in one hour. It was so fun to watch! It was like Craft Wars.
I was especially proud of this team, full of roommates and new friends!
{From left to right: McKenzie from Girl Loves Glam, Katie from Sweet Rose Studio, Holly from My Sister’s Suitcase, Whitney from A Mommy’s Life with a Touch of Yellow, and Jamie from The Crafting Chicks}
 I made so many new friends, including Camille, Kristen, and Elyse from Six Sisters’ Stuff! I was so excited to meet these ladies. Their blog has been a longtime favorite of mine. And they’re just as sweet as can be!
 Kaylynn from Among the Young (middle) is one of my new favorite people. We had a blast with this girl!

 Crystal is one of my new blog besties for sure! Love her!

 I came home with so many business cards! I’m so impressed with the creativity behind the cards.

SNAP! was pretty darn wonderful. I had so much fun and wanted to cry from exhaustion and the fact that I had to leave all my wonderful new (and old) friends. I can’t wait to go next year!
